Qualification -
Unit of Competency UEPOPS524 - Evaluate scheduling of generation plant
Description
Employability Skills
Learning Outcomes and Application This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to undertake the evaluation of a power generation plant schedule to meet forecast demand.Schedulingis the process of arranging and optimising the use of generating plant and personnel in a power generation facility. Scheduling can have a major impact on the productivity and costs of a power generation facility.Competency in this unit requires the ability toanalyse load profile, evaluate power generation unit availability and capability, evaluate power generation unit scheduleand complete documentation. Individuals will, in general, work as an operator with responsibility for scheduling in a power generation facility.Power generation plant operators are typically trained and authorised to isolate, prepare plant and issue permits to work.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.Note: Workplace practiceThe application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence or training permit to practice in the workplace where work is carried out on gas and electrical installations. Additional conditions may apply under state and territory legislative and regulatory licensing requirements.
Duration and Setting X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting.

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

Range is restricted to essential operating conditions and any other variables essential to the work environment.

Non-essential conditions may be found in the Companion Volume Implementation Guide.

Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
